Abby Rosenberger
Director of Account Services
As the Director of Account Services at GCommerce, my career journey began over a decade ago as a marketing specialist within the company. Throughout this time and beyond, I've had the privilege of working alongside numerous talented female leaders who have not only mentored me but also inspired my growth.
What are some challenges you believe are unique to women in leadership roles within the digital marketing industry?
One of the unique challenges women face in leadership roles within the digital marketing industry is the difficulty of speaking up and asserting their presence at the table. Many women may hesitate to challenge ideas or seek clarification, often due to concerns about how they will be perceived. Additionally, navigating biases, balancing confidence with approachability, and advocating for equal opportunities can present ongoing challenges. Overcoming these barriers requires resilience, self-assurance, and a strong support network.
Can you share strategies or personal experiences that have helped you overcome these challenges and thrive in your leadership role?
One of the most effective strategies I’ve used to overcome challenges and thrive in my leadership role is building the confidence to speak up and ask questions. Doing so has been instrumental in overcoming imposter syndrome, ensuring my voice is heard, and fostering meaningful contributions. By actively engaging in discussions and challenging ideas when necessary, I’ve been able to establish credibility, build strong relationships, and assert my presence in leadership spaces.
What are some of the most significant achievements and milestones you've reached at GCommerce Solutions?
One of my most significant achievements at GCommerce Solutions has been leading the client services department to drive strong relationships and successful outcomes for our clients. I’ve played a key role in refining our onboarding process, ensuring new clients experience a seamless transition and quickly see value in our partnership.
Additionally, I’ve worked closely with cross-functional teams—including paid media, SEO, website development, and analytics—to create cohesive strategies that maximize performance for our clients. Strengthening collaboration across teams has not only improved efficiency but has also led to more innovative and effective marketing solutions. These milestones have helped solidify our reputation for delivering exceptional service and measurable results in the hospitality industry.
What practical advice would you offer to women who aspire to take on leadership roles in digital marketing?
My advice to women aspiring to leadership roles in digital marketing is to wholeheartedly pursue their passion rather than simply chasing a paycheck. True success comes from doing work that excites and motivates you every day. When you are genuinely passionate about what you do, that enthusiasm becomes evident in your creativity, decision-making, and leadership. It fuels your drive to continuously learn, innovate, and push boundaries.
Passion not only leads to personal fulfillment but also inspires those around you, helping to shape a meaningful and impactful career. When you love what you do, success naturally follows.
How do you perceive the role of diversity and inclusion in fostering innovation and driving success within your organization and the industry?
Diversity and inclusion play a crucial role in fostering innovation and driving success within both my organization and the digital marketing industry as a whole. By bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, we create an environment that encourages fresh ideas, creative problem-solving, and more well-rounded decision-making. When different voices are heard and valued, teams become more dynamic, adaptable, and better equipped to meet the evolving needs of clients and consumers.
